A-Link has changed phone numbers

We make a habit of posting to this page even minor glitches that customers would not notice, so please do not be alarmed at the number or frequency of posts. We simply feel that it is important to keep you informed of all of the goings-on at the A-Link NOC.

Regular system maintenance is scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the early morning from 12:00 midnight to 3:00 a.m, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 5:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight. Please check this page to see if maintenance will take place during any particular maintenance period. If you have any questions or comments pertaining to any past or future maintenance please contact our support department at 408-387-5555.

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck the LA area at approximately 11:42 PDT. All services in the Los Angeles area that we provide are operating normally to our knowledge. If are in the Los Angeles area and are having service problems please contact our support department.

Covad informed us (after the fact) that they needed to perform emergency maintenance this morning out of their Sunnyvale facility. The end result of this emergency maintenance was a loss of connectivity for approximately 50 of our DSL subscribers. All service should be restored at this point. The problem causing timeouts when trying to send mail through our outgoing server has been resolved. Some people reported problems with webmail access, and those problems have also been resolved.

Several customers have reported timeouts connecting to our outgoing mail server, when sending messages. We are investigating this issue and hope to have it resolved shortly.

Power to affected sites was restored approximately half an hour after going out. We will continue to monitor the situation.

PG&E is currently experiencing electric power problems on the Peninsula. As a result we have customers in San Carlos and Burlingame without power, and thus without connectivity. We will monitor the situation closely and contact PG&E if necessary.

Dialup access was restored earlier this evening. All dialup access numbers accept incoming calls properly once again.

Callers to our dialup access numbers currently get an "all circuits are busy" recording. We have a ticket open with the vendor for the circuit that serves these numbers, and we will update this page as the situation progresses

Power was restored to the A-Link office late in the day on Friday, the same day power went out. Our main number, 408-318-6808, and support number, 408-318-6810, will reach our office once again.
